This does not happen often but we will not have an OCC service on Sunday.  We will have our service at RCC Sunday Night @ 6pm.  It will be a service you don't want to miss.  Come support those in the church that have been on the Lifecourse Journey.  You won't regret it.

We often try to schedule time to spend with God.  Our time with God often gets hijacked even with our best efforts to try and get up early, grab a bible reading plan, load up the ipod with Hillsong and head to a quiet place.  Don't miss the mystery of intimacy unraveled Sunday at 5pm.

We are in week 2 of a 4 part series creatively named FOUR.  We are talking about our specific calling as a church and 4 values that dictate much of what we do and how we do it.

Last week we talked about evangelism and why it's more than just a good idea,  it's a MOVEMENT and we get to be a part of it.

This week we will talk about the Holy Spirit.  You don't wanna miss it!! If you have ever wondered why we put so much emphasis on the Holy Spirit this is the Sunday for you.

The wave at OCC is growing!! It's been an exciting to see how God is moving at OCC.   As we begin move forward as a church we want to clarify why we are here in Jacksonville Beach and what we are all about.

Last week was a great reminder that God is so good.  We have been praying for a space that fits OCC.  God has provided what we need.  I can't wait to see how this next chapter unfolds for the church.

Don't forget that we are doing the Lifecourse!!! It begins Tuesday September 27th.  The LifeCourse is a great place to bring friends.  There is a great food and discussion about what matters in life. Is their more to life than just doing the best we can for the 70 or 80 years we spend on earth? The LifeCourse is fun and does not feel like "church".

Theology on Tap - Season Finale!!

What's better than the season finale of the Bachelorette?  The last TOP!!!

We are winding down our summer of Theology on Tap.  This week we will be the "last official" TOP until the spring, but guys will still hangout on Thursday nights forever!!!

Worship and Work @ OCC

Bring your ladders, sanders, cleaning gear and yourselves out to the beach to help give the OCC building a facelift.   We are so excited that God has provided a space for us.  We know that this is just a building and we don't want to make it a bigger deal than it is.  But we want to make our space a reflection of our values and a refuge for people to encounter God. 

So.......for the next few weeks we will be doing some minor improvements on the building.


Here's what our next 3 Sundays will look like: There will be a team of volunteers working all day on those Sundays.
At 6pm we will stop working and have a very casual and informal time of prayer and worship. If you can stay after to continue working, that would be awesome. Also, if you have time during the week to help out, we will be there! Contact Derek to let him know.   (derek@occjax.com).

Yes!!! It's a good week.  We are headed to Fionn Macools tonight for Theology on Tap.  We only have a few more weeks left, so come out and hang tonight at 7pm.

OCC has a building!!!

Yes, it's true! We are moving out of Derek and Beth's house into a space here in Jax Beach. Derek signed the lease Wednesday afternoon.

We are extremely excited to get into a space and completely grateful to Jesus for providing it.

We want to give the place some TLC for the next few weeks.  We will be cleaning, scraping, replacing, and painting and we need your help.

Here's what our next 3 Sundays will look like: There will be a team of volunteers working all day on those Sundays.

Due to some scheduling changes, we will not have Theology on tap this week. We will be back on TAP for next week the 25th. Feel free to get together Thursday with friends from OCC. Hangout, build relationships, play games, or do something together.

College Ministry - Discovery meeting!!

Reflected in our vision as a church is reaching those who have grown tired of church that is routine and not transparent. The largest demographic not interested in church is between the ages of 18 - 30. Yet, that same generation is said to be the most spiritual seeking in several decades. Where is the disconnect?

We want to find it!! We want to see college students awaken to the truth that there is something rather someone bigger than their desires. We want to be as creative as we can be to reach this young generation that will be leading the church in a few short years.

From a Brothel to an Amphitheater - Ocean City Church 6pm

I know that the title of this blog doesn't make sense to you if you did not go to Costa Rica, but it will of you come Sunday night. Several people from OCC made the trip and it was amazing in so many different ways.

It's been a couple of weeks since we have been together so I am really looking forward to tomorrow night.

Parking along their house should be fine.

NO OCC KIDS THIS WEEK. Due to some facility issues we will not be having OCC KIDS. We are working on some amazing possibilities for the future. We can't wait to serve your kids!!!
