God's a Movin'

God is on the move at the beach!

As we continue to meet and celebrate as God's people through fellowship, worship and studying His Word it is exciting to see how we are becoming more unified as a community that loves the beach.

If you missed Sunday, we studied the importance of gospel community and that we are "a royal priesthood, a holy nation" (1 Peter 2:9). Tim Keller, in the "Gospel In Life" DVD, went so far as to say that apart from this gospel community we will not know God, change deeply or be effective witnesses for Christ. Those were heavy words to hear. Convicting, even. The group discussions were encouraging and engaging as we delved into these questions and more.

As we continue to grow together as a Christian community it's important to love and serve our beach community. In the Session 4 Home Study that's found in the "Gospel In Life" Study Guide, Tim Keller gave us the challenge of creating an event for our larger community. Let's brainstorm and come together with some great ideas to have fun with our friends that live in the beach community.

Again, we will be at Darran and Kathleen's home from 5-7pm. This Sunday we will be doing appetizers and desserts again.

And one last thing. Derek and Beth are leaving Wednesday for a week long mission trip to Costa Rica. They'll be leading a team of high schoolers. Please be praying that God will pour out continual favor and opportunity on the team as they minister in the brokenness found in Costa Rica. Our God is a God who is mighty to save!
