This last Sunday we started our three week series called Prayer Ministry Training. Derek laid out the biblical structure for why we believe what we do when it comes to the Holy Spirit and working out of the gifts.Join us this week as we enter Week 2. This week Derek will specifically speak into the gift of tongues (Acts 10:46, 19:6, 1Corinthians 12:10, 14:6, 22, 39) and prophecy(Romans 12:6, 1Corinthians 12:10, 14:22, 1Timothy 4:14). Some questions that will be addressed include: How does the Spirit-filled church engage in tongues and prophecy healthily? What is the role of tongues or prophecy in the church?
Also this week, we will begin praying for one another. Derek will guide us through the model of prayer ministry that we will use to do ministry. If you haven't been to OCC in a while, please feel welcome to join us. We strongly encourage anyone who plans on journeying with us to make it Sunday night.
One last thing as a reminder The Life Course kicks off this Wednesday, September 29 at 6:30pm. The Life Course is an eight-week course for people interested in exploring some of life's big questions including, "Who is Jesus?", "What can I really believe?", "Does prayer really work?" and many more. Ocean City Church is planning on having its own group if enough people show up. This is a great opportunity to stretch and grow in your own faith as well as inviting your non-Christian friends to really explore the things they believe to be true about Jesus and the life that they live. Food is also provided (I believe it's $5).
